It has just come to my attention that the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant continued to operate until the year 2000.
As the thread title and icon suggest, I find this somewhat surprising.

I was going to make the point that 'at your age' you really ought to have mastered the difference between YOUR and YOU'RE. It isn't difficult. You just have to think about it before you write it. After a while it will become second nature, I promise.

Pin this one down, then we'll work on your use of there/their/they're. I expect it's similarly dire.
I've pretty much given up on people's use of apostrophes. Fighting a LOOSING battle there. Besides, autocorrect functions on mobile phones keep inserting/moving/'correcting' perfectly well placed apostrophes because Mr Samsung's programmers are Korean, not English. It's easy to overlook when your correct apostrophe use has been sabotaged by ignorant Koreans.
